Fleet Assist rolls out the industry’s first ESG audit for garages

Friday 15th May 2026

Fleet Assist has completed its first Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) predictive audit of its 9,700 service points and 650-strong mobile garage network.

This is also an industry first and reaffirms Fleet Assist as providing the benchmark for SMR supply chain management. Having just completed its first network wide audit this lays down a solid foundation for Fleet Assist’s garages to understand and then reduce their own environmental exposure in line with leasing and rental fleets looking to reduce their Scope 3 emissions.

Importantly this work safeguards garage businesses with large customers who will be increasingly required to report their ESG scores as part of their reporting obligations.

Scope 3 supply chain emissions can represent 70–90% of a company’s total carbon footprint according to the Carbon Trust, which is why Fleet Assist was keen to begin this journey as soon as possible to secure garage’s SMR work with our larger customers. Fleet Assist will provide customers with the ability to incorporate ESG garage ratings into work direction considerations if required.

Each garage ESG audit covers several key areas including diversity and inclusion, a review of their product and service review and whether they have a quality assurance, health and safety and environmental policy in place. Data governance, cyber security, financial stability, company structure, carbon management and sustainability are also audited.

Its framework agreement will also assist garages to gain more in-depth ESG reporting which can then be used to demonstrate both investment attractiveness and operational efficiencies.

Fleet Assist as a business has also undergone the same ESG process, evaluated against all the above criteria however it has taken it a step further with more in-depth analysis as it leads by example in this area. It marks the first step in Fleet Assist’s ongoing commitment to sustainable business practices, ethical governance and positive social impact across its own operations and external garage partner network.

It provides a benchmark from which continuous improvement and transparency can be achieved when engaging with clients, partners, and stakeholders.

“Our ESG assessment represents an important milestone in our journey to operate more responsibly and sustainably,” said Nikos Kotrozos, Fleet Assist’s supply chain director.

“We recognise the vital role we play in influencing environmental and social outcomes across the automotive supply chain, and we are committed to driving meaningful progress for our customers and partners.

“We plan to publish regular updates on our ESG progress to give all of our stakeholders have clear visibility of performance and ongoing improvements. Talking about the constituent elements of ESG adds credibility to companies and acting on them shows integrity,” he added.
